Alberta Ecotrust Foundation

The Alberta Ecotrust Foundation was established in 1992 as a partnership between environmental groups, corporations and concerned citizens. The mission of the foundation is to bring together diverse groups to provide financial and collaborative support to Alberta community organizations working to preserve our environment.

ATCO Electric, with its sister companies in the ATCO Group, is a founding member and corporate sustainer of the Foundation.

As of December 1998,  the foundation had approved more than $1.8 million to registered not-for-profit groups in support of 147 grassroots projects in Alberta.  In ATCO Electric’s service area, the foundation has funded such worthwhile organizations and projects as the Drumheller Regional Science Council, the Drumheller Recycling Association, the Parkland Conservation Farm Association, the Bonnyville Wetlands Society and many other provincial programs.
