ATCO Electric’s 2008 Distribution Tariffs
 

The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) has given interim approval for ATCO Electric’s 2008 distribution rates on December 12, 2007.

The EUB approved the discontinuation of Rider G effective January 1, 2008.  The EUB also approved a change to Rider B, which is a Balancing Pool refund that ATCO Electric flows through to customers on behalf of the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO). The change to Rider B also took effect on January 1.

For the average residential customer who uses 600 kWh per month, the net decrease in the total charges is $0.83 month or about 1.7 per cent.

Although commercial and industrial customer’s base rate slightly increased, most of them saw a decrease in total delivery rates because of an amendment to Rider B.

The distribution rates reflect the costs we incur to deliver electricity to our customers safely and to build and maintain the power lines to keep up with Alberta's growing economy.
