Complete the generator application form below and submit your application fee. You can apply on-line or print and mail the form below.

The application fee is required prior to ATCO Electric commencing the preparation of a cost estimate for the interconnection of the generator. Application fees vary depending on the project. See fee schedule below to determine the correct amount for your application fee.

Site plans, Single Line Diagrams (SLD's), proposed protection scheme, and generator specifications are required with the application. Upon receipt of the completed application form, a Industrial Services representative will contact you to discuss the project.

Missing or incomplete information could cause delays in ATCO Electric providing a cost estimate.

Once we receive all of the required generator information and application fee*, ATCO Electric will:

  1. Carry out load flow studies to confirm the capability of the distribution system to handle the output of the generator.

  2. Provide information on the existing distribution system and equipment.

  3. Inform the producer of current standards and practices related to the interconnection.

  4. Inform the producer of any specific further study requirements.

  5. Review the interconnection design proposed by the Generating customer.

  6. Estimate the cost of the line and equipment that ATCO Electric will need to construct or modify.

  7. Prepare a commercial agreement (proposal) for the Generating customer to review.

*Note: The application fee does not include detailed protection studies, anti-islanding studies, transmission system requirements and upstream system improvements required for the interconnection of the generator.
