The customer must enter into an operating agreement with ATCO Electric prior to the generator being connected to the system. The operating agreement outlines the responsibilities of each party, interconnection points, switching identification and communication procedures between the generator operator and ATCO Electric. The Agreement establishes who operates what facilities such that there is neither an overlap nor a gap in operating responsibilities. The Generating customer will be required to identify the name and contact information of a person responsible for policy decisions affecting the producing facility, and also for the person responsible for the real-time operation of the facility. ATCO Electric takes no responsibility for operation of the Generating customer's facilities, and must ensure that the producing facility does not affect the reliable operation of the distribution system.
