Generator Interconnection GuideThis manual outlines the technical requirements and procedures for interconnecting a generator with ATCO Electric's distribution system. The Generator customer is responsible for all engineering studies and protection designs.
Become a power
pool
participant and comply with any power pool requirements (unless all energy
produced at the site is to be consumed at the site).
Provide technical
information to ATCO Electric and to the Transmission Administrator, as
specified in Appendix II of the generator interconnection manual.
Design, install, operate
and maintain the interconnection facilities. All necessary designs and
drawings shall be signed and stamped by a Professional Engineer; or shall be
certified by an accredited certification organization and conform to the
current edition of Part I of the Canadian Electrical Code.
Pay the incremental costs
of interconnection in accordance with commercial terms
established by the ATCO Electric.
