We sell
our scrap and other
materials and equipment
that we no longer need.
This includes both used
and new material that
may be obsolete or
otherwise now unsuited
for our use. Some
surplus materials may be
offered for sale to our
employees but this is
not normally done if we
are soliciting offers
from outsiders.
Our selling strategies and practices are designed to do these things. For more information click on StandardsWe

Local firms are given every reasonable opportunity to compete.
Business MethodsWe primarily use a bid invitation process to sell surplus but we do use alternative methods when circumstances, in our judgment, warrant such action. Our evaluation and award of business considers both the price offered and other non-price factors. Information is not routinely disclosed regarding bids, negotiations, evaluations, or sales.
Work on our FacilitiesIf the removal of scrap or surplus involves work in our facilities we select only those buyers we believe knowledgeable and competent to meet our health, safety and environmental requirements. We manage the sale agreement and monitor the work or work results to ensure compliance. Our key health, safety and environmental considerations are included in the development of any sales contract. InventoryInventory is sold to outsiders if it is obsolete or we have too much for our purposes. Other sales may be made on an exception basis. In such sales, our intent is to recover fair market value. |
