Company Profile

Here to Serve You.

Albertans count on ATCO Electric for the safe, reliable delivery of electricity to their homes, farms, and businesses. ATCO Electric serves almost two-thirds of the province, delivering electric energy to petroleum and forestry companies, farms, towns and cities, First Nations and Metis Settlements.

The company invested a record amount in capital – more than $502 million – almost 70 per cent more than was spent in 2007, the previous record year.

Choosing a Retailer

When it comes to buying the electricity for your home, farm or business, you can buy electricity at competitive (unregulated) rates from energy retailers, or you can stay on the regulated rate offered by your regulated energy service provider.

Whatever your decision, you can count on ATCO Electric for safe, reliable electricity delivery. We are on-call 24-7 to respond to outages and emergencies.

Regulated rate:

In the ATCO Electric service territory regulated rate electricity is now provided by Direct Energy Regulated Services. They offer customers a fixed regulated-rate electricity charge that is approved by the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC). Go to www.directenergyregulatedservices.com for more information.

Contract rates:

Contract rates are provided by energy retailers. For a listing of licensed energy retailers go to the Alberta Government’s Utilities Consumer Advocate website http://www.ucahelps.gov.ab.ca/ or call toll free 310-4822.
