Albertans count on ATCO Electric for the safe, reliable delivery of

serves almost two-thirds of the province, delivering electric energy to petroleum and forestry companies, farms, towns and cities,
First Nations and Metis Settlements.
The company invested a record amount in capital – more that $296 million
– over 30 per cent more than was spent in 2006, the previous record year.
That included more than $161 million invested in distribution (an increase
of over 20 per cent from 2006) and $91 million in transmission (a 43 per
cent increase from 2006). ATCO Electric also invested millions of of
dollars in technology, fleet and isolated generation.
Choosing a Retailer
When it comes to buying the electricity for your home,
farm or business, you can buy
electricity at competitive (unregulated) rates from energy
retailers, or you can stay on the regulated rate offered by
your regulated energy service provider.
Whatever your decision, you can count on ATCO Electric
for safe, reliable electricity delivery. We are on-call 24-7
to respond to outages and emergencies.
Regulated rate:
In the ATCO Electric service territory
regulated rate electricity is now provided by Direct Energy Regulated Services.
They offer customers a
fixed regulated-rate electricity charge that is approved by the Alberta Energy
Utilities Board. Go to

Contract rates:
Contract rates are provided by energy
retailers. For a listing of licensed energy retailers go to the

Through ATCO EPIC’s Volunteer
Recognition Fund, employees donated more than 14,400 hours to organizations in
their communities in 2007. ATCO recognized this volunteerism by contributing
$12,900 to charities designated by ATCO Electric employees.

charitable-giving program, ATCO Electric and its employees jointly directed
more than $410,000 in 2007 to charities, not-for-profit and community service
organizations in Alberta.
